I was also there Oct 2018. Me and my companion had a very good experience. The food was excellent but I ate too much. They do limit your time to 1.5 hours as you stated and also charge a waste fee if you order any meat item and don't eat it. I wish buffet restaurants in United States would adopt both of those policies because I've seen so much waste in American buffets, people leaving so much food on their tables when they leave and sitting around for hours as other people wait in the lobby to be seated. This video is a nice reminder of my visit to Bangkok. Thank you.

Worth a try. Pla Thong Mookata near Victory Monument. Locals swarm this place and the buffet costs only less than 200baht. Been a loyal customer since 2008.

Went to AKA branch last Sunday, felt pretty satisfied. Although the price is now increase to 339+ THB per person.
I tried Meat Lover option (basic buffet). I tried 1 condo of basic beef just to be sure it is not good, and yes it is too chewy just like you said. Pork and chicken are far better in basic buffet option. I like pork with spicy gohsujang sauce, pork belly, sesame pork. Miso soup, Japanese omelette and Korean spicy chicken help break from flaming hot grill although I listen to your advice not to fall into the trap of eating too many of them. In the middle of buffet, staff gave me free shot of lemonade to clean your tongue. I finished with shave iced with red bean dessert.
Total price 339+ with 45 THB for refill drink is 422 THB. Although not the cheapest, but counting from AKA branches usually in big department store around me is pretty convenient, I think I satisfied.
By the way, the red paste is actually Goshujang which all Korean BBQ places have but some Yakiniku places also do have them but never put on the table like AKA do and you have to ask for Goshujang yourself which is kind of annoy because when they serve in one very very small bowl.

Btw as a recommondation for your next video… Maybe you can make a video of the recently opened Icon Siam complex (Malls, Hotels) etc. I think that's the biggest developement in Bangkok in the recent….
