Almost of local Thai markets are busy at early mornings. At the time you visited the market there were just only a few venders.
Some (maybe most) of those alive fish at the beginning at this particular market are for people to make merit by releasing them into the river not for cooking.
I' d been there at I' m in love and sunset views were mesmerised and food was superb.

The wet market. And, ironically, it's called Thewet market – am sure with a totally different meaning in Thai. Thank you for your vlog – like many others, I find them great especially in these times when one can't travel to Thailand.

Walk along the canal for 10 minutes, you will have delicious fried oysters. "Siriwan" (Thai Restaurant) or "Sen Chan Phad Pu" (similar to Pad Thai and is also the name of the restaurant)

FYI* That market, I think it's called "Thewarat Market Pear" (ตลาดเทวราช), On the opposite side of "Wat Devaraj"(วัดเทวราช), And close to Thewet Pier (ท่าเรือเทเวศน์).

TM, I can’t believe you made this Video, i used to know the place so well and was going to ask you if it was still there. To me back in the day this is what SE Asia was all about. I used to stay in the Riverline Guest house a Ten minute walk from here. If you walk down the other side of the canal there used to be a flower market and a Thi boxing school in the street. At the.old Express boat pier you could buy bags of bread to feed the Thousands and Thousands of Cat fish that would appear. Thanks so much for making this.in all the Thirty years I went there I never knew the name of the Market.

Wet market could be next covid hotspot . Zoonosis thrive in this environment. Best avoid.

This is one of the oldest fresh market in bkk old town may be 100years plus.
The boat pass Nang loeng market that is the oldest local food market too.

In Love doesn't serve alcoholic drinks from 2pm to 5pm. But you can walk 100 m to a tiny grandad n grandma shop that wiil sell beer or whisky and then take it into In Love. The waitress will put it in a paper bag for discretion. Only in Thailand!

Walk around in river side restaurant area and while seeing Chao Praya river view are amazing.
