god that was a flea pit of a hotel, have stayed in places like that even in the states.

I have visited Thailand many times like your goodself, and have only came across a few minging hotels, buts looks can be deceiving, stayed 10 nights at the DOWNTOWN INN in chiang mai a few years ago, looked superb , only when I got home to uk I was very ill, turns out I was poisioned by chemicals to kill bed bugs/mosquitos etc, found out later that week about 8 tourist had died while staying there ?

We have all done this geoff especially before the internet stayed at the
ruamchitt plaza on sukhumvit just as bad as that 20 years ago going through all your vids really enjoying them

Al right there Geoff , i have only just found this upload of yours having seen all the other great videos you make , that place looked like a real shit hole on the video and i would have done the same as you and fooked off out of it quick , i think i am lucky that i have stayed in 20 odd places throughout Thailand and not one of them was bad , keep up the good work mate….. : )

That's really disturbing. I'll bet the toilets were just as tidy. How much did they charge for the dump? What was the name of the hotel (I use the term loosely) so no one else makes the mistake of going there?

Ok Neil I accept your apology, I make these videos for no fee, and when I get negative comments it really pisses me off, after all I am on holiday. sometimes I question why I do these movies??? should just come away like everyone else and just enjoy myself. may be that's what I should do ?

Understood!! There was no offence meant. the remark about the passport was meant as a plight bit of advice. Did you manage to get somewhere else to stay while you were there?
We stayed in one like that in Dehli ….
We didnt even dare get into the bed ..luckily we had our sleep sacks….
In Yorkshire we say tha gets what tha pays for , but that room as you say is minging and Rodrick would not have slept in there , all them flea bites ..ya …if I was you I would go and drown my sorrows …good holidays Geoff ..
So in a nut shell Neil, I had no other option at the time, and I am very street wise when it comes to travel abroad, but on this occasion I had to go with the flow, if you ever go to lamphun you will see why.

Nel, let me tell you. I was a guest of the Smith family, Donalds Wife who is Thai booked the hotel, it was the only one for 7 miles near there house. So I had no option than to except their kind offer? the other hotels of which there are few, were miles away, there are no taxis in Lamphun, so it was all about location. regarding the passport in Chiang Mai, I know these people from a few years ago, and that's their policy, and I trust them. I have a copy in my bike for the police.
Yeah, it looked like a pretty nasty place. Makes you wonder if they ever change the bedsheets. Nothing like having a few cheery condoms laying around to decorate the place, Sounds like a short time hotel. Bate's Motel. LOL! All it needed was Norman's mummified mother sitting in a rocker by the window.
Hi Geoff. That's the trouble with not researching your hotel first, it is basically a lottery. And i must admit i am surprised at you because you have pretty much always stayed in reasonable hotels. That happened to me the first time that i came to Thailand i booked into a hotel on Soi BK Pattaya the rooms were boggin and like you i booked out within ten min's, i learned my lesson then. Bye the way Geoff it is not a good idea to give up your passport to anyone, give them a copy is instead.
