I would never have known this place exists even though driven or rode past it a thousand times before. I on odd occasion opt for hi-end eating in Pattaya and 9 times out of 10 its a total mistake. Your expectations are high and when they not met you feel like Dick Turpin has paid your wallet a visit. After all these years you would think i have learned by now as each and every time its been on the cheaper scale have been the best. I pretty much followed what you had Nick with the exception, had the grilled not deep fried Pork. Just me and the Missus was under 400 Bht as I had a beer as well. What can I say I have eaten many great dishes in Thailand but this was up there for freshness, quality, size of portion and of course good value. Good video M8 and keep doing the footwork for us its appreciated.

Have you been to Darling's Kitchen? It's at the beach end of Soi Jomtien 1 next to what used to be (and still bears the sign of) Harat's Pub. A bit more expensive and they have electricity, but still unbeatable in my book. BTW: the location marker in Google Maps is about 30 meters off, the correct marker has for some reason a coffee cup sign and says "Кафе".

It is only just up the road from my place… I haven't eaten there yet, but I will take Mrs Dave there this week. We do have our fave which is down near the beach first soi to the left coming from the beach on Soi Chaiyapruek. Only a small soi, last little business on the right.. you will only see a few tables there… opposite is a wooden hut where they do the cooking.. Slightly more expensive than the restaurant in your vid, but the food is excellent…. I think closed Wednesdays.
i love your food reviews and have been to some of the places you recommend ,i have a problem though i am a veggie like you used to be ,all of the places so far have done veggie food for me except one,and all of the food has been fucking amazing,i wont mention the 1 place that said they cant do veggie as maybe it was a one off ,you know what thailand is like ,maybe different staff that night,but i will ask at this place and see what happens 5555

Yes 👍🏻 its always a good trick to follow taxi drivers , they eat where the food is cheap but delicious.
On a holiday in Turkey i saw taxi drivers going to the back of a hotel and there the kitchen had a side business from an open window, i also went and had the one of the best shawarmas i ever tasted and it was dirt cheap .
While i studied i drove taxi , i also new the best affordable eating places in town. (Ha ha and all the brothels in town , as taxi drivers always knows 😆)

Stayed near there so have eaten there it’s very good indeed. I think the thing with street food aimed at Thais is they use different cuts of meat then we are used to, they eat every part. lots of connective tissue and it’s tougher but once you get used to it the flavour is amazing. The hardest part is knowing which is clean, busy places are always the best for me as it means they’re turning over the stock. Thais have stronger stomachs and are more used to the bugs than holiday makers.
A very good way to keep your spending under control. These kind of savings allow for some great nights out. The food looked superb, which is a bonus.
I ate there this arvo after watching your video, very nice lady there, maybe bad timing as 12 chinese people all ordered at the same time, got Pad Karpow moo and asked little spicy (which is usually pretty spicy), i think they rushed it as to get my meal cooked before serving the big group as it didn't seem to be cooked long enough and it had no chilli at all in it so sort of ruined what its meant to be like, also got that crispy pork and chinese broccoli dish and pork was very dried out and sauce was too salty… this was 2,30pm, ill give it another go later.. was 140baht for 2 dishes, Egg on the Krapow which came rice and a Fanta..
