The only thing more frequent in South Dakota than prairie dogs, is Wall Drug signs.
Speaking of prairie dogs, I don't understand why people consider them so interesting. They are gross, disease carrying, acreage destroying, varmints that populate like rabbits. They need constant extermination to keep under control. They can, and do carry the plague. They create very unstable ground which puts horses and cattle at risk of snapping a leg.
prairie dogs carry plague fleas don't get close
What about Crazy Horse monument? It's just a stones throw from Mt. Rushmore. Custer State Park also has the Buffalo Roundup 1 time a year.
Nothing but pine cones and rattlesnake
Thanks so much!
too much face and gob
No mention of Lead and Deadwood? Crazy Horse monument? Spearfish Canyon? Wind Cave National Park? Many omissions. Perhaps a sequel?
Thank you for this travel guide! You've also provided some excellent suggestions for places to stay and attractions to visit. When I travel to the Black Hills of South Dakota, I will follow this guide.
Thank you for your video about the Blackhills of SD. It is very clearly explained. I appreciate it so much. I am a resident of SD and I am so blessed to live in my state. We love our freedom and peacefull environment here.
Indigenous copper people of the black hills! Those carvings of stautes of mount Rushmore were originally carvings of the 4 chiefs who each controlled the North! South! East! West! Region's of the Americas
Thank you that all sounds great
Search out a place that has buffalo burgers. They are the best in the west, you don't want to miss out
We are traveling there in July with a 3 year old. He walks/runs everywhere, should we take stroller or are the pathways not that accommodating. We just aren’t sure if we need it since it takes up a lot or trunk space.
The greatest single feature of the Black Hills is as she says, you can stay in Rapid City and make day trips to everywhere without having to move your stuff! If you motel it investigate a weekly room rate. The Hills are not a one day drive through, if that’s all the time you have…..stay home! Your only going to do unhappy. And one more tip, things will be crowded during Sturgis bike week!
Awesome info!
How awesome, great suggestions of places to stay and visit. We are looking forward to visiting the Black Hills, it's on our Bucket List.
I know nothing about this area (or travel in the US generally) this is really interesting. Love the look of Devils tower – how cool and the little prairie Dogs! Its cool to know that when people visit Mount Rushmore there's lots to do near by. What's public transport like for people who don't drive?
Super cool map animation Michelle 🙂 you go girl. Wow 2021 will be a BLASTTTTT for you 🙂 Congrats.
Such an informative and interesting video! I'm putting the Black Hills on my bucket list right away 😃
This was really informative! Love the idea of a whole year pass, whish more places did that!
Such a great guide to the Black Hills! It's one of our favorite National Parks and we like staying near Wall on national forest land (for free!).
This was a very informative guide. I've always wanted to visit Mt. Rushmore, and that was good info about the parking and the night program. The Wall Drug store looked so rustic, and I'd love to visit some of the smaller towns in the area.
I love how you get clips of all the places with details. Go #VRA FAM. Super sound and music too. TY
South Dakota is on my bucket list. I'd love a spring 2021 vacation, but the dang covid virus makes traveling so unpredictable.
This is so interesting. I knew nothing about South Dakota before.
Lots of good advice
I miss it so much to travel and discover new places! I am tired of this Covid19 and staying at home. Thank you for sharing this awesome video! I want teleport myself!
I love how you point at there’s so much more to the area than Mount Rushmore. I’ve never been out that way (I’m a Mississippi girl) but it looks so beautiful out there and sounds like there’s so much to do!!
Oh how i would love to visit some day! My father in law is from Farmington.
