I'm doing a lot of research but I was wondering if you could tell me what the expected budget for train usage would be monthly. An educated guess is perfectly fine! I would juts like to know a ballpark estimate on monthly costs but I can't find anything online. I plan to travel a substantial amount early on!

I saw that the self purchase at Reserved Seat Ticket Vending Machines will be possible after April 1. I’m guessing you have to scan your passport. If you don’t want to scan your passport or just don’t want to buy it from the vending machine for whatever reason, can you still buy it from the staff?
I like Japanese trains. Something is attract me. Especially, how local diesel train Kiha with two cars coming to the rural station, it is really exciting! Of course, Shinkansen is the pick of technical progress. Japan is railway community which is great!
