Hi Knobby. Airbnb: such a good idea for a long stay option. The key is to be near a sky train station, which you are. Also, great idea to undertake an educational course in Bangkok. Hey Ian, I have watched a few of your vlogs. I am coming to Thailand for the fourth time in August for 3 months. Just curious why you decided to stay in Bangkok. I have been to BKK , Phuket , Pattaya, and Chiang Mai. There are things I like about all. I do not hang out in bars. I am trying to figure out where I want to spend most of my time.. I am leaning towards Bangkok myself.
I too have used AirBNB many times, all around Thailand.
Once you get in contact with the actual owner, next time you can book direct with them, saving more money.
Oh, I'll be travelling in Thailand throughout June, be nice to have a beer with you somewhere.

supposedly airbnb is now illegal in Thailand
None of the places you’ve shown have ovens, toaster or grills in the kitchens. Most Airbnb’s I’ve used have them, including pots and pans! The only problem with Airbnb especially when your travelling you don’t know what the place or area is like until you arrive!

Really useful vlog Ian, cheers – when I retire in a couple of years time these are the sort of options I am thinking about as the 2 week millionaire lifestyle will be out of the window. Staggered by the price differential between Sukhumvit and further up to the end of the BTS – 300% which is not to be sneezed at. Probably a lot cheaper to eat out around there as well, and more friendly. I remember staying in a lovely Thai girls apartment near On Nut about 20 years ago just after he BTS was completed and this seemed to be the case.
