The most important question, which mattress (futon) was the thickest? When I stayed in a Capsule hotel in Tokyo, the mattress was so thin, I had to bend it in half otherwise it felt that I was sleeping directly on the floor, and the hotel didn't have extra mattress to put on top of the other one 🙁

It spins me out that people leave their belongings outside the room they stay in, where any random person walking past could potentially take it. I get that Japan is a relatively safe place and has very low crime, but if there are other travelers staying there, who knows if they're going to steal your belongings. I'd be super paranoid about that >.>

I will be staying in First Cabin but in a first class pod. It has a space beside the bed to stand and leave luggage.
I like the first one. Late next year I'm making an old childhood dream of visiting in Japan come true. Osaka and Tokyo are the top of my list followed by up in Hokaido somewhere. Then it's off to Australia to visit some old musician friends.
