Guys, I'm off there with my brother in Jan. Any advice on places to stay? Mid budget bit like yours maybe a little less?
I guess you realised what makes Koh Kood so special (zb compared to Koh Phanghan) and may also that you risk it by an out of control growing mass tourism hype with such youtube videos and titles about.
There are just a few islands like that left, so please don't try to hype it for some little Youtube Euros and enjoy it in private, that it's not destroyed in like 10 years like Koh Chang is!

Having been to Thailand 4 times visiting Bangkok, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi, Phuket, Koh Lanta, Krabi, Ao Nang, Railey, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Lipe, I need to do one more visit to this country and see Chiang Mai, Koh Chang and Koh Kood. Great video.

I’ve been going to Koh Kut for years. I’m sorry, but it’s these videos that help turn little pieces of paradise into shit holes like Koh Chang. I know you want to show content that people want to see, but in doing so, you are helping the decline of some great well kept local places. Pristine beaches and cheap accommodations will become a thing of the past. We will be left with a loud noisey party spot that serves up Sangsom in a bucket, with 15 straws that will be scattered all over the beach. I remember when Lonely Beach, was a lonely beach.
