I like how in this episode you can see the moment where Gordon assumes Joe is like most of the other owners who don't care and run their restaurants into the ground at the expense of everyone else, but right then despite his tendency to shy away Joe gets animated and actually steps forward and confronts Gordon about his suggestion that he close the restaurant. Gordon dials it back because he realizes someone who'd oppose that idea so instinctively is obviously emotionally invested in the business and doesn't deserve to be beat up on or excessively blamed. He just needs to wake up and allow Gordon to help which he did

Imagine just dining with your family in the local restaurant giving it a try then suddenly see GR walk out of the kitchen asking for everyones attention and looking mad pissed, I would just pass away

How could Fabio be GM and not know anything abt cleaning, freezing of pasta, old dessert displays, etc?? He is def a waste of $. Hopefully, John got rid of him. Oh, anybody else think Laura is really cute?

Man I feel real sorry for Joe, you could tell he knows exactly what is wrong and the simple changes that would improve but he's just been beaten down by John refusing to change the menu and how they operate.
John is the most open and honest owner I've seen on here and he admits to the wrong doings first step to change is admitting to your mistakes he gets my respect for that

Good for John! Guy really seems like someone well meaning just unprepared for the situation he found himself in. Even when he was mad at the beginning of the episode, it seemed more at himself than at anything else.

One of the most genuine USA kitchen nightmares. John was just a good guy, worker who was broken by the loss of his parents. He just needed a culinary expert like Gordon to snap him straight. To give him a hand and a push in the right direction.

This was one of the most honest and responsible owners of the kitchen nightmare show. Glad Gordon knows how to read people and didn't have a go at him.

It's so hard for him to accept the blame for mistake but he did and he did it honestly. John was finally really, really tired of keeping his guard up.
Idk what the manager was really arguing about. You should NOT make a real food as a display presentation. There's definitely a molding company who makes realistic food props so his argument is invalid.

That's double standards for you right there. When you say that it's crazy to make pasta fresh but then freeze it, but it's totally okay to present molded deserts. 😆

NGL when the sign with the specials came out, the one from when his parents passed, I teared up. Losing loved ones is always hard and I do hope he had been able to get past that so he can live his life again.

Serving non veg food to a vegetarian is considered one of the most serious offenses in India
Everyone is saying how they feel sorry for John and I do to BUT I still can't get over the fact how clueless he is about some things. All he says is " that's how we've always done it " I'm sorry but my 8 year old knows that you don't put pork bones in a vegetarian dish,vegetarian means vegetarian NO MEAT.
Yes he's honest and depressed and misses his parents and he's not an arrogant jerk like so many owners on this show but he's a grown man and to say things like.." you can't make meatballs everyday cause you take 20lbs meat etc " when it's obvious that you can make 10lbs or 5lbs of meatballs and do them fresh,there is no law that states you have to make 20lbs worth and serving vegetarians meat cause they've always done it that way is inexcusable.
I'm glad he turned it around though and I was rooting for him but his excuses of " that's the way we've always done it " did annoy me, as everyone knows that you don't put meat in vegetarian dishes and he's a restaurant owner and for him not to know that just blows my mind
