  1. James Whitewater says:

Sounds like the antivaxers are cheering the loudest, perhaps feeling empowered by the Thai decision to allow everyone in. Yet, S Korea is reporting large increases in covid infections among the Chinese travellers, same in Japan. Just hope Thailand don't suffer to mutch.

  2. TrueBlueThai, Up2You says:

HI Tim I think I will add my controversy commitment to the Chinese/Covid Debate, I sure it will upset someone typical western.
I was happy to see covid restrictions return as it should only apply to Anti Vac ( I had 4x vaccines 2 uk & 2 Thailand) who if anything don't wear mask and will spread the virus around Thailand. The Chinese however are more likely to wear masks (like I do) and are more likely to have/want the vaccines. Listening to uk BBC 5 live just last week there was medical professionals urging the government to have mask wearing on public transport as there has been a sufficient rise in Covid cases. I know from my sister's (both doctors) say the hospital having huge spikes in covid cases. The debate is that the only country that" spread covid is the Chinese" not true. If I am on a baht bus or shopping mall and there are western without mask, I mask up if I saw a group of Chinese I would be more relax and that feeling is the same with my thai village wear I live.

Although no vaccine cert required is the official line…….today (Tuesday 10th Jan) a friend and his wife flew from Birmingham /Dubai-Dubai-Bangkok, Via Emirates…at Birmingham airport they were instructed that they must have evidence of vaccinations before allowed to check in……up to the airline they were told………😮.. luckily they had them with them..

  4. Artial Marts says:

Thanks for the info Tim, rather worryingly I’m still being informed in the UK by my airline on Jan 10th that all passengers need to provide evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination or they will be refused boarding 🤷🏻‍♂️ this is despite the U-turn by the Thai government., can only hope this gets sorted before my flight on Thursday 😒

  5. Rusty Graves says:

I dunno if there are any fixed speed cameras but you quite often see a couple of Fuzz in the central reservation with a hand held device and there will a checkpoint a few kilometres up the road where you’ll be dragged over.
2-300 baht should be enough to make the problem go away, “Allegedly”.🤫

  6. Jamie says:

Like yelling "fire" in a crowded theater! Unleashing the Anautin Vax alert without warning ⚠️

"Hit and Run" only 2 point deduction from your record. That means you could get away with 6 hit and runs before you loose your license. Halarious!

  7. Mike Richardson says:

    Hi Tim,
firstly I wish to thank you for providing all the latest information, and in a very speedy manor particularly the live broadcast while driving.

Can you let me know where I can locate the notice to airman publication that so many are talking about, I think I will print it out just in case the airlines are behind the times.

It can be shown to the desk in an emergency. For example, a lady sitting on the desk may not have seen the latest news and with things moving fast could be behind the times.

All the very best, and once again THANK YOU
    MICHAEL RICHARDSON

  8. Weekday Cycling says:

The government's request for foreign tourists to wear masks when using public transportation, particularly metro train systems, did not go as planned. Many tourists, I've noticed, disregard the rule. Only Thais adhere to the rules.

  9. John Mitchell says:

Thanks for all the info….if masks are mandatory in any settings I won't be traveling to kho samui….it's just not worth it for me…the vaccination status has already spoiled my trip…. unfortunately does look like I'll ever get there..

  10. Kevin Foster says:

    While looking to book.
Tui return flight not direct £1020 I was quoted for 17th Jan. I looked at evaair and a few others all approx 800/900
    Then…..went on British airways.
£573. Tri d calling to confirm but as usual queue waiting.
Can anyone as it's my first time flying to Thailand help me with booking and is the difference in price almost 50% correct or am I not reading right.

  11. Kevin Foster says:

I haven't watched any local news for ages. Know more about Thailand everyday.A massive thanks to Tim and all for giving us updates and news daily. Feel sorry for the tourists got caught in the confusion.hope they can get everything ironed out and not lose out .
Question. Leave booking a flight till next week just in case anymore surprises? Good idea?

  12. Robert Zantay says:

If Thailand doesn’t ask tourists, from countries that are suffering Covid outbreaks , for proof of negative tests before and after their flights, they will be responsible for any resulting infections that their desperate need to reestablish the tourist economy causes. No one will cancel their trip to Thailand because they will be asked to comply with Covid testing.
