They existed long before Soviet Union. These are Ukrainian dishes. The view you promote is blunt cultural appropriation. Now, it's time to show your human face, Mark. Russia is killing Ukrainian people at this goddamn moment. If you care a tiny bit, delete videos featuring Russia. While you call Ukrainian dishes "Russian", you support putin's agenda about "brotherhood" between Russia and Ukraine. There is no brotherhood. Mark, thank you for this video. I live in St. Pererburg, but I have never been in this "pishechnaya". It always a loooot of people. I also advise you to try Russian roast (zharkoe) , hodgepodge (solyanka), cabbage soup(shi) and okroshka(cold summer soup). And of course manti and buuzas, this is closer to Asia, but in Russia they are loved.
